Social Activities

One of the advantages of living in a care home is the opportunity to socialise, and at Lostock Lodge we offer a varied range of activities for our residents. The following is just a selection of what we do and new ideas are being added all the time.

Craftwork - making decorative items for the home or as presents for relatives.

We play board-games such as Dominoes, Ludo and Rummikub and we regularly organize quizzes.

To encourage physical activity we have a number of gentle games such as indoor skittles, velcro darts, beanbags, balloones and Jenga.

We sometimes try cookery - usually making and decorating cakes and biscuits - and eating them too!

A Breath of Fresh Air - even those needing a wheelchair can enjoy some fresh air as our activity organisers regularly take residents out for a walk.

Music - we regularly book professional entertainers and our piano also sees frequent use for informal singalongs.

Gardening - we are looking to develop a section of our garden for residents to enjoy cultivating their own plants.
